What is Gate 23 in Human Design?
Gate 23 is the Gate of Assimilation, and its I Ching hexagram is Splitting Apart. It translates individual inner knowing into language others can absorb and add to what they already know. The splitting is not destructive: it breaks a complex insight into pieces others can take in, until only the essential remains.
Gate 23 lives in the Throat Center, the center of communication and manifestation. Its voice says "I know", which is different from the logical "I think" or the abstract "I believe." This knowing is not backed by evidence. It arrives fully formed, and then it needs words others can receive.
Gate 23 belongs to the Individual Circuit, Knowing sub-circuit. Individual energy is mutative: it changes how others think. Individual insight is also unfamiliar, so people with Gate 23 can be seen as eccentric until the right listener arrives, and then the same words sound like genius.

Channel 23-43: The Channel of Structuring
Gate 23 is one half of Channel 23-43, the Channel of Structuring. Its partner is Gate 43, Insight, in the Ajna Center. When both Gates are active, the Channel is defined, and both the Ajna and the Throat are defined.
Channel 23-43 belongs to the Individual Circuit, Knowing sub-circuit. It joins the Ajna's inner insight (Gate 43) to the Throat's ability to say it (Gate 23).
