How to read your compatibility chart results
You get three bodygraphs: one for each of you, and a connection chart between them. Start with your own two, which show how each of you moves and decides. Then read the one in the middle, where both designs sit together: the channels you complete as a pair, and the centers that stay open even together.

The connection chart
The middle chart lays both designs on one bodygraph. It is also called a composite chart. Each person's activations keep their own color, so you can see whose gate is whose.

Definition
Whether the centers you define together form one connected group, Single Definition, or split into two or more groups with no channel between them.
Connection theme
The two numbers, like 7-2 or 8-1, count the centers the two of you define together and the centers that stay open even together. There are nine centers, so they always add to nine. The open ones are where the relationship stays open to the world around it.
Two Authorities, one decision
Each of you still decides by your own Inner Authority, even inside the connection. When one of you has Emotional Authority, a shared decision waits for their emotional wave to settle, while the other may know in the moment.

Profile compatibility in Human Design
Your results show each person's Profile, two numbers like 2/4 or 5/1. Profile lines resonate in pairs: 1 with 4, 2 with 5, and 3 with 6. Each pair sits in the same position in the lower and upper half of the hexagram, so a line in one chart recognizes its partner line in the other.

The Investigator, who needs a foundation before acting, and the Opportunist, who works through an existing network.
Lines 2 and 5
The Hermit, naturally gifted and called out by others, and the Heretic, projected onto and expected to solve.
Lines 3 and 6
The Martyr, who learns by trial and error, and the Role Model, who lives in three distinct phases.
A 2/4 carries lines 2 and 4, so it resonates with any Profile that carries a 5 or a 1: a 5/1 meets both of its lines, a 2/5 or a 4/1 meets one. Resonance is not a score. What is Human Design

Human Design compatibility is the study of what happens when two charts meet. Each of you carries your own definition, and where your charts touch, the relationship forms a third chart of its own: channels and centers that come alive only when you are together. Reading compatibility means reading that shared chart, not grading two people against each other.
No two Types are incompatible. A connection works when each person follows their own Strategy and Authority inside it: Generators wait to respond, Manifesting Generators respond first and inform before they act, Projectors wait for the invitation, Manifestors inform before they act, and Reflectors give big decisions a full lunar cycle. When both people decide from their own design, even a demanding pairing becomes workable.
Compatibility is awareness
The goal is not labeling a relationship as right or wrong. The goal is understanding what is actually happening between both charts.

How two charts actually connect

Two Authorities, two tempos
Most compatibility friction that looks like a values problem is actually a pacing problem. Every Authority answers on its own clock, and two clocks in one relationship rarely tick together.
Fast meets slow
Splenic and Sacral authorities know in the moment. Emotional authority needs to feel a decision across its whole wave, sometimes for days. The one who knows first is not more right, and the one who needs time is not stalling.
The waiting is the design
When a fast Authority pressures a slow one, decisions get made before they are ripe, and they rot afterward. When both are allowed to finish, the same decision lands clean and stays decided.
Sequence, not consensus
Pairs that work in practice decide in sequence. The immediate Authority names what it knows, the deliberate one takes the time it needs, and nobody talks anybody into anything.

Which Human Design types are most compatible?
There is no single "most compatible" pairing in Human Design. Some Type combinations feel more naturally flowing, while others create more growth, intensity, or challenge. The healthiest relationships come from awareness, correct Strategy, and respecting each person's Authority rather than trying to find a perfect match.

What is a Human Design connection chart?
It is both bodygraphs laid on one chart, sometimes called a composite chart. It shows the centers you define together, the channels you complete between you, and which of the four connection types each channel is: electromagnetic, companionship, dominance or compromise.
What do connection themes like 7-2 or 8-1 mean?

Is there a Human Design compatibility percentage?
No. Human Design does not score relationships, and there are no bad matches, only mechanics: where your designs meet, what happens at each meeting point, and which frictions were never personal. Any percentage is a score added on top of the system.
Do both people need an exact birth time?
The closer the better. A profile and some gate activations can change within a single day. If you only know an approximate time, use your best estimate; a birth certificate or a family member usually settles it.
Can I check compatibility for marriage, family, friends or work?
Yes. Any two charts can be compared: a spouse, a parent and child, siblings, friends or business partners. The Compatibility Reading is written for how you are related, and if either person is under 18, it is never written as a couple's reading.
