What is Gate 2 in Human Design?
Gate 2 is the Gate of the Direction of the Self, and its I Ching hexagram is The Receptive, made entirely of yin lines. Where Gate 1, Self-Expression, is pure creative yang, Gate 2 is pure receptive yin. Direction comes through receiving, not through force.
Gate 2 lives in the G Center, the center of identity, love, and direction. It is sometimes called the Driver, because it works like the key that starts your vehicle and lines you up with your correct path, and it is also known as the Keeper of Keys.
Gate 2 belongs to the Individual Circuit, Knowing sub-circuit. Individual energy follows its own path, and Gate 2 supplies the inner knowing of where that path leads, even before the mind can see it.
What does an active Gate 2 look like?
Gate 2 is active when a planet sits in it, whether or not Gate 14 is active too. You then have a consistent connection to your inner sense of direction. People with it often describe "just knowing" which path is right without being able to explain it. That knowing does not come from the mind.

You do not need other people to tell you where to go. The compass keeps running. The challenge is trusting it when the mind wants to override it with logic or fear.

You receive guidance, resources, and direction from life itself. When you stop forcing, the right opportunities tend to arrive.
