Gate 58 is the Gate of Vitality. It carries the Root Center's pressure directed toward improvement: fuel for the Collective logic process that tests, corrects and perfects the patterns people rely on as they move into the future. It is joyous, insatiable energy that does not rest until things are better.
Gate 58 lives in the Root Center, both a motor and a pressure Center: the source of adrenaline, stress and the push to begin. In Gate 58 that pressure is aimed at joyous correction, the drive to make life more vital and more functional.
Its I Ching hexagram is The Joyous, an image of openness and of the pleasure that comes from seeing life clearly, its beauty and its potential at once.
What sets it apart is that the joy here is logical, not emotional. It is the pleasure of getting something right, of perfecting a pattern, of mastering a skill through repetition, rather than the emotional wave of the Solar Plexus.
