How the Now cross is placed

The Now (20/34 | 37/40)

The Now is your conscious Sun and Power your conscious Earth, so the Throat and the Sacral sit on the side you know, completing Channel 20-34 in plain view. Friendship and Aloneness run on the Design side, completing Channel 37-40 below awareness. The charisma is the part you can see. The community is the part others feel first.

Start with the Gate that holds your Personality Sun, then its Earth, then the Design pair.

Gate 20: The Now

Gate 20, The Now, is the conscious Sun and the cross's only Throat Gate. The cross and its Sun Gate share the words The Now. Its hexagram is Contemplation. It completes Channel 20-34, Charisma, with Gate 34, and the cross carries both. Gate 20 is awareness of this moment and the voice to say it. Its fourth line, Application, is fixed here, so what you notice is put to use right away.

Gate 34: Power

Gate 34, Power, is the conscious Earth and sits in the Sacral. Its hexagram is The Power of the Great. It is the other end of Channel 20-34, so the Sacral is always joined to the Throat. Power grounds the cross in energy that is available now, not stored for later. Its fourth line, Triumph, is always here: the force reaches a result you can feel, and the win comes from carrying a thing through.

Gate 37: Friendship

Gate 37, Friendship, is the Design Sun and sits in the Solar Plexus. Its hexagram is The Family. It completes Channel 37-40, Community, with Gate 40, and the cross carries both. Lived below awareness, it is a steady loyalty to the people you have chosen. Its first line, The Mother/Father, is fixed in this cross: a caretaking role that others lean on, whether or not you meant to take it.

Gate 40: Aloneness

Gate 40, Aloneness, is the Design Earth and sits in the Heart. Its hexagram is Deliverance. It is the other end of Channel 37-40, so the Heart is always joined to the Solar Plexus. It grounds the cross in will that needs its own time and space. Its first line, Recuperation, is fixed here, which sets a clear limit: the giving is real, and so is the rest that makes it possible.

A Type and an Authority built into the cross

Channel 20-34 joins the Sacral directly to the Throat. Under the canon rule, that makes everyone with this cross a Manifesting Generator: a defined Sacral with a motor connected to the Throat. The Strategy is to respond, then inform before acting.

Channel 37-40 defines the Solar Plexus, and the Solar Plexus is the top Authority when it is defined, so everyone with The Now also has Emotional Authority. That means decisions are made over time, across the emotional wave, and not in the first moment.

Three motors and one voice

Of the nine Centers, the cross defines four: Throat, Sacral, Solar Plexus and Heart. Three of those are motors. The Sacral, the Solar Plexus and the Heart are all defined by the cross itself, which is a lot of available energy.

Only one of the three, the Sacral, reaches the Throat through the cross's own Channel. The Heart and the Solar Plexus are joined to each other, not to the voice. So the energy is large, but the route out for the other two motors depends on the rest of your chart.

A personal charisma over a tribal base

Channel 20-34 belongs to the Individual circuit and is on the conscious side. Channel 37-40 belongs to the Tribal circuit and sits on the Design side. Others meet an individual first, someone alive in the present with a lot of force.

Underneath, the base is Tribal: family, friendship and who you are loyal to. The Mother/Father line and the Recuperation line are both about the people you look after and what that costs. The cross reads as a bold individual with a deep need to belong somewhere.

Why the Now is a Juxtaposition cross

With The Now, a fixed fate has little to decide: the Type and the Authority are already set by the two Channels. The 4/1 Profile keeps all four lines in place, so the path is not about finding out what you are. It is about living it well and honestly in the present moment, one response at a time. The Juxtaposition goes with one Profile, 4/1. With any other Profile the same four Gates make a Left Angle cross instead.

A Juxtaposition cross comes only with the 4/1 Profile: your Personality Sun sits in line 4 and your Design Sun in line 1, and each Earth shares the line of its Sun. So unlike every other cross, this one comes with its lines fixed. Everyone born with the Now cross carries these four.

Living the Now cross

At work

The Now suits work with live energy: teaching, performing, hands-on building, leading a small team. As a Manifesting Generator you wait to respond to what is in front of you, and you let the people your move will touch know before you act. Waiting for the emotional wave to settle before a large commitment is not slowness, it is how your Authority works.

In relationships

Friendship and Aloneness make a pair that can confuse people close to you: you care deeply and you need your own space. Say so in advance. Recuperation is a plain line, and a partner who knows your pattern is far less likely to read your withdrawal as rejection.

In decisions

Emotional Authority means no big decision in the first rush of feeling. Sleep on it, feel the wave rise and fall, and decide when it is clearer.

It fits people who want a firm base for decisions, with the Strategy and Authority already set by the cross. Your Strategy and Authority are how you get there; the cross is where it leads.
