Gate 34: Power
Located in the Sacral Center. Gate 34 is pure, raw Sacral life force designed for action and individuation. It is asexual (not reproductive) and its power is unavailable to others. Gate 34 loves to be busy, but the busyness must come through correct response, not through mental obligation.
Gate 20: The Now
Located in the Throat Center. Gate 20 is existential presence: it can only express what is true in this exact moment, without reference to past or future. It does not plan, analyze or prepare. It acts. Joined to Gate 34, that present-moment expression receives the Sacral's power, so the action is both immediate and sustained.
What they create together
Energy flows from Gate 34 in the Sacral to Gate 20 in the Throat. Gate 34 provides the power and Gate 20 provides the now. The Sacral's yes becomes action, speech or physical engagement with no gap in between. The thought becomes the deed. This is why it is such a busy configuration.
The warrior gives way to the buddha
That is the paradox of Channel 20-34. You have manifesting power, yet the Strategy is still to respond, then inform before acting. When you respond correctly, the power is correctly directed. When you initiate from the mind, the power scatters and you become a workhorse for someone else's agenda.
What does a defined Channel 20-34 look like?
"I am busy now"
You are almost always doing something, but it must be what your Sacral has responded to. Busy for the sake of busy depletes you. Busy because your Authority said yes regenerates you. That distinction is the difference between charisma and exhaustion.
Unavailable to others
Most people with Channel 20-34 appear unavailable to others, and this is correct. When you are absorbed in a correct activity, your power is directed toward that activity, and you may be somewhat deaf to outside input. You are not being rude. The self-absorption is the charisma: when you are fully engaged in what you love, others can't look away.
Instant manifestation
The pure Generator responds, waits, then acts. With Channel 20-34 you respond and act in the same breath. This speed is not impulsiveness. It is the mechanical reality of having nothing between the motor and the Throat.

A defined Channel needs both Gates. With only one of them, the Channel is open and that Gate is a hanging Gate, waiting for its partner.
Gate 34 without Gate 20
You have Gate 34's Sacral power but not the consistent Throat connection to express it immediately. You may feel powerful without being able to manifest that power in the moment, and you will be drawn to people with Gate 20 who give your power immediate expression.
Gate 20 without Gate 34
You have the present-moment expression but not the consistent power source to fuel it. You may feel urgently present without the physical power to follow through, and you will be drawn to people with Gate 34 whose raw energy gives your voice its force.
Oppositions and transits
Channel 20-34 is one of three opposition channels in the Rave Mandala (alongside 23-43 and 37-40), so if you carry one Gate you may often meet people with the other. When a planetary transit activates the missing Gate, the Channel completes temporarily and you may feel the sudden ability to respond and act at once.
