Gate 45: The Gatherer
Located in the Throat Center, with the hexagram Gathering Together. Also called the King or Queen. Its voice says: "I have, or I don't have." It is deeply possessive, a gate of manifestation and action that protects the material resources of the tribe. It is a natural authority and guide, yet not truly here to work: it is here to own, protect, gather and declare. The actual management belongs to Gate 21.
What they create together
The tribe needs two things: money, and a commitment it can count on to stay together. The hunter brings the money; the king brings the commitment. The king tells the hunter the land is theirs to hunt freely, and the king gets the best piece of meat. The tension between them IS the channel working: 21 wants control, 45 wants the final say. When each respects the other's role, the kingdom prospers. When either takes the other's role, it falls into conflict.

Electromagnetic attraction
When someone with Gate 21 meets someone with Gate 45, the full Money Line activates between them. Gate 45 owns the factory but doesn't work in it; Gate 21 is the president with a strong will who manages everything. Together they run the organization so everyone does well financially.
Transits
When a planetary transit activates the missing gate, the channel completes for a while. You may feel both the will to control and the voice of authority working as one.
